Barça Ready for First Match at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend

Barça revealed they are set to host at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Basque side in La Liga 30 months since relocating to allow renovations to start.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. After final construction, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held a public practice inside the stadium earlier this month. Officials stated approval is being pursued from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side on 9 December at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
