Los Merengues winger Vinicius Jr has apologised to fans for his reaction when taken off in Sunday's intense match against Barcelona win.

The Brazilian was substituted in the second half and displayed his disappointment by walking immediately off the pitch.

"Now I want to say sorry to all the Real Madrid fans for my behavior when I was substituted in the derby," the player shared on X.

"In the same way as I have previously expressed during the latest practice, I wish to say sorry once more to my teammates, the organization, and the leadership.

"Occasionally passion gets the better of me because I constantly desire to win and help my side. My determined nature originates in the affection I have for this team and everything it symbolizes."

The player joined Real from Brazil in the year 2018 for £38.7m and has notched 111 goals in numerous matches.

But his future in the Spanish capital is unclear with rumors in lately indicating that the club would contemplate letting the player leave if they obtained a good proposal.

When Vinicius was substituted on Sunday, broadcast footage from broadcaster the service recorded him saying: "Again me! I'm departing the side! It's better if I depart, I'm leaving."

In his latest statement on X, the athlete commented: "I promise to keep battling every second for the good of Los Blancos, as I have done since the very beginning."
