Writing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he finally felt prepared to share openly about his deep grief.
"Sufficient time has passed that I can now put my grief into words," shared Elwes, saying that his first meeting with Reiner made him fall in love. "As we began spending more time together I knew this was someone I longed to have in my life."
The actor shared behind-the-scenes footage from the production, commenting that he could not remember "one day without joy".
"This story is about affection, allegiance and giving. Things that Rob held dear. This is one of the many reasons he was the best person to direct it," Elwes continued.
He went on to praise Michele Reiner, noting: "To say that they were a incredible duo would be an understatement. My heart still hurts every time I remember you." He ended with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

"Immediately, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese shared.
Scorsese mentioned Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the lead role.
"He could improvise with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked wonderfully with his co-stars, and he understood the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese noted.

In a new development, a Los Angeles superior court judge ruled to block the disclosure of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, at the request from the local authorities.
A judicial mandate placed a restriction on the files to limit the public release of "any investigative information, documents, files or images" connected to the ongoing investigation.
The Medical Examiner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the consequence of murder, with a official listing listing the cause as "injuries from a sharp object".
